Porter Trustin Carlson (PTC) is a full-service interior solutions distributor headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. Specializing in reputable division 10, curated from across the United States, PTC works with Architects, Designers, General Contractors and Facility Managers in Iowa and Nebraska to fulfill project design with quality manufactured goods.

History

Porter Kraus Co. was established in Omaha in 1918. Mr. Porter and Mr. Kraus were primarily involved as brokers selling stone aggregates for roads to cities, counties and the states of Nebraska & Iowa.

In the 1940s, Mr. Harry Trustin, a former UPRR draftsman and WWI veteran, joined Porter, changing the landscape of the brand, Porter Trustin Company. These two partners pursued a new industry, selling windows and doors to commercial contractors. Over the next 100 years, the product offerings continued to expand as the needs changed for commercial construction design.

Mr. Ed Carlson joined Trustin in the 1960’s, thus creating the current company name of Porter Trustin Carlson Co. (PTC). Carlson’s expertise grew the window business and PTC was the first subcontractor in the Omaha area to provide and install suspended acoustical ceiling systems, in addition to acoustical consulting by Carlson.

In the 1940s, Mr. Gunnar Mossblad, a Swedish immigrant, came to the US and attended Nebraska University at Omaha. With a degree in engineering under his belt, he joined in partnership with Carlson in 1970.

Directly following his UNL College of Engineering graduation in 1975, Mr. Jerry Kuehn started his first full-time employment as Sales/Estimating with PTC. He bought the company from Mossblad in 1995 and the name remains the same today as the premier architectural construction building material supplier/subcontractor.
